Today we have this young white Renault Megane that comes for turbocharger inspection. The problem was a whistling noise and lack of power. Also if you push throttle harder car goes into limp mode.
Before we can do any repairs with this car we have to confirm where the problem is and what caused it. Once we know what is the reason and obviously what is faulty we can begin with work.
Firstly we need to eliminate reason of failure. Thanks to this we can make sure that turbocharger won’t fail again the same way.
Services and Fitting
Once old turbocharger is stripped down and reason of failure is eliminated we can begin with services.
Important step is to drain old oil (we did it earlier in case of damaged feed pipes). Old and tried oil cannot protect turbocharger adequately. Also driving with old oil is reason of many seized turbochargers. Just like in this case.
Because this car wasn’t serviced regular we decided to flush engine before filling with new oil. After that we mounted brand new oil filter and air filter. Then we filled engine with new oil. These services must be done to give new turbocharger friendly work environment and get its best performance.
