Range Rover Sport 3.6 TDV8 Turbo Replacement Turbocharger Reconditioning Fitting Without Lifting The Body West Midlands UK

Today our garage has been visited by this nice dark blue Range Rover Sport TDV8 with turbocharger failure. This car comes for turbo replacement. The owner decided to left car with us because we are only one garage that replaces turbochargers in any Land Rover or Range Rover without lifting the body.

Inspection

During the inspection, we found out that the air filter was leaky. The air wasn’t filtered properly. Small pieces of dirt, sand and other stuff that comes through air box was hitting turbocharger wheel causing damages. One day while driving the car suddenly lost his power.

These small damaged which appears on the turbine wheel was caused by foreign objects impact. Once damages get worse and worse turbocharger wasn’t boosting as before. Leaky boost system generates error codes which put the car into Restricted Performance Mode.

Reconditioned Turbochargers

Once we found out what was the reason of failure we could begin with fitting reconditioned turbochargers. First thing was to clean the whole breathing system, intercooler and removed old feed pipes. 

Right, everything has been cleaned and looks like brand new. Let’s start with a fitting reconditioned turbocharger. Important thing is to replace feed pipes for new ones to make sure that turbocharger will be lubricated adequately. 

Services

The key step to prevent turbocharger from premature failures is kept services done. We must replace the air filter and oil filter for new ones. Also, we must drain old oil from the engine and fill it with brand new.
