Today our workshop has been visited by this Audi TT with 1.8 turbo petrol engine. It’s a little beast on the wheels 😀
This vehicle had an issue with performance and was making loud whistle noise. The first suspect was a turbocharger so we did an inspection to confirm what is the problem.
Our free turbo inspection is a service dedicated to everyone who has issues with the turbocharger. Our policy says “No Solution? NO PAY!” which simply means that we won’t charge you if we couldn’t find a solution for your vehicle.

Inspection
So we begin with an inspection. We found that some foreign object had hit into the compressor wheel caused that shaft lost his balance. This, in turn, caused seals stared passing oil on the exhaust side.
This is dangerous for the engine as oil is the lifeblood for the engine. The low oil level can cause many problems and engine failures. The worst one is engine seizure. But luckily this time engine is in great condition.
Turbo Reconditioning & Fitting
Along with turbocharger replacement we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. We also replace feed pipes for new ones to ensure that oil pressure and flow will be correct. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.
All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
