BMW 535d Turbo Failure
Hi,
Today we have in our garage this BMW 535d with bi-turbo system that is made of large and small turbocharger. This vehicle had a turbo problem since last few months and the reason of boost issues can be easily see on the photo below.
Turbo Failure Symptoms
We accessed to the large turbocharger intake and slipped in the endoscope camera to check how do the impellers looks like. We’re surprised how badly the compressor wheel was smashed.
Turbo Reconditioning & Fitting
Along with turbocharger replacement, we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.
All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
