BMW X5 Turbo Failure
Hi,
Today we have in our garage this BMW X5 with bi-turbo system. There is a problem with turbo in this car so we had to do an inspection so we can confirm what is the reason for boost issues.
Turbo Failure Symptoms
The main symptom that points to turbo failure is heavy white smoke which says that very likely seals on turbocharger started passing oil on the exhaust side. A very high temperature of the exhaust system causes oil gets burn and heavy white/grey smoke comes from the exhaust. Also, this symptom comes along with oil lose as oil is burning.
Turbo Reconditioning & Fitting
Along with turbocharger replacement, we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.
All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
