Mercedes A Class Turbo Blown – Reconditioning and Replacement

Inspection results give us a clear answer why turbo failed. Lack of service caused blockages from oil contamination in oil return pipe. This in turn resulted with higher oil pressure that couldn’t escape through oil return back to the sump. Because oil is keep flowing all the time under some pressure it has to escape somewhere. As oil return has been blocked turbo seals has blown and passed oil on exhaust side. This caused heavy white smoke.

Along with turbocharger replacement we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.

All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
