Mini Hatch 1.6 Turbocharger Failure
Today we have in our garage Mini Hatch from 2013 with 1.6 diesel engine.
The owner was complaining about lack of power and whining noise coming from the engine.
Turbo Failure Symptoms
This car had a few symptoms related to turbocharger failure. The car was losing power and slowing down up the hill. The engine malfunction light came on the dash and car was making whining noise.
We did an inspection and we found that this car wasn’t serviced on time and in result, the oil has contaminated and turbocharger didn’t get enough lubrication. This caused the whining noise and turbocharger seized up.
Turbo Reconditioning & Fitting
Along with turbocharger replacement, we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.
All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
