Nisan Qashkai Turbo Failure
Hi,
Today we have been visited by this new Nissan Qashqai from the year 2016 with 1.6 dCi engine. This pretty young car had a loud whining sound along with power loss. These symptoms are very likely related to the turbocharger. But to confirm what is the problem we’ve to begin the diagnostic test.
Seized Turbo
The main symptom that points to turbo failure is whining noise which gets worse when revs go higher. As a result of lack of service, the turbocharger has seized. This happens when not enough oil flow through turbo or feed pipes are blocked. Turbo uses engine oil as coolant and lubricator. If there is not enough oil flowing through the turbo shaft starts to scratch bearings and overheating. This creates noise and in result seizure.
Turbo Reconditioning & Fitting
Along with turbocharger replacement, we drain old engine oil and replace air and oil filters, then we fill the engine with brand new oil. Additionally, we will inspect and clean the breathing system and turbo intercooler.
All of our turbochargers are balanced up to 250,000 RPM on the latest VSR machine. Correctly done balancing is very important for the best performance and long-lasting.
